Mark

Mark is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and experienced music teacher with a background in jazz, contemporary music, and creative arts. A graduate of the University of Auckland in Jazz Performance and Marketing, he has performed in a wide range of bands in New Zealand, written and recorded original music, curated original projects, having recently relocated from Auckland to Brisbane.

With broad influences and experience across jazz, pop, funk/soul, rock, and alternative styles, Mark helps students build confidence, solid technique, and practical musical skills in a fun and encouraging environment. His knowledge of multiple instruments, songwriting, and music production gives students a deeper understanding of how music works both on and off the stage.

His lessons are fun, personalised, and student-centred. He guides students who want to learn their favourite songs and solos or focus on musicality, creativity, and theory while developing solid foundations in learning the fretboard and overall musicianship. He teaches his students how to apply these skills in real musical situations and performances.
