Rohan

Hi, my name is Rohan. I’ve been teaching piano for a while now, and it’s become one of the most meaningful parts of my week. I’ve taught students of all ages and levels — from complete beginners finding middle C, to more advanced pianists refining expressive phrasing and technical control. Regardless of where students are starting, I approach each lesson with the same goal: to nurture joy, confidence, and a genuine connection with music.

I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) in Physics and Pure Mathematics at the University of Queensland. At first glance, it might seem like an unlikely match — teaching piano while immersed in the abstract world of theoretical physics and mathematics. But for me, they are deeply connected. Music, much like mathematics, is full of patterns, precision, and structure. But it also offers something the sciences can’t always reach — a direct and emotional form of human expression.

Teaching piano allows me to share in this expressive world with others, while maintaining balance in my otherwise very analytical studies.

Whether it’s working on exam pieces, exploring improvisation, or just learning to enjoy playing for fun, I tailor each lesson to suit the student. Above all, I aim to make music a source of expression, curiosity, and joy.
