Harry Armfield

Harry is a proud Academy success story—he studied here through most of his teen years and progressed all the way to a successful AMEB Grade 8 Drum exam. He now teaches at the Academy a couple of days per week alongside university study.

Harry has a strong grasp of complex rhythms and a calm, encouraging teaching style. He can support students who want an exam-focused pathway as well as students who simply want to play their favourite songs with confidence. He’s especially good at helping students build timing, coordination, and musical independence—so they can practise effectively between lessons.

Best for: drum students who want a teacher who’s been through the full learning journey, understands exams, and can make progress feel achievable and enjoyable.
