Elsie started playing the piano at the age of 4, and developed her interest in the clarinet in high school. Before she came to Australia, she studied at National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan with a major in clarinet, minor in piano.
In 2014, she came to Australia to pursue her master's degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under Frank Celata—Associate Principal Clarinet of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra—a mentorship that enriched her musicianship and passion for both playing and teaching.
She has taught within several school instrumental programs, taught private lessons, and provided accompaniment sessions. Since 2014, she has helped many students achieve excellent results in their AMEB examinations.
She is passionate about nurturing students' love for music, guiding them in developing their musicality, and helping them refine their technical skills so they can reach their goals and succeed in grade exams.
Apart from teaching, she is actively participating in performances. She was the principal clarinet of the Australian Wind Symphony from 2019 to 2023 in Canberra.
After she relocated to Brisbane last year, she has joined the Brisbane Symphony orchestra and Queensland Wind Orchestra.
